Fumie WILL come back to Worlds and the Olympics again. I know.

Damn. I wish Fumie would have won this competition in 2006. That way it would be less pressure for her to prove anything. But I'm glad she's still skating. Hope she has a successful season in 2009.

No, that's a joke. Fumie's choreography was completely recycled and nothing special. Not sure why you would even try bringing up spins either, Cohen is superior in that area (especially at the Olympics; Fumie's spins there were weaker than they were at Worlds).

Fumie had much better speed, edges, and ice coverage, and faster spins than Sasha.
Fumie's choreography was stronger than either Sasha or Irina.

I never understood people saying Fumie deserved Silver at 2006 Olympics. She was cleaner than Cohen, but that doesn't mean she was better. Cohen had the best programs of the competition and was far superior in many of the technical elements. I could understand Bronze but even there it shouldn't be hard to understand why Slutskaya was placed ahead - she had a solid lead after the SP and, even though she had the fall in the LP, she made up a lot of ground on the tech mark with her superior spins.

Totally. She was hosed at both the 2002 and 2006 Olympics to finish where she did. She also deserved a much better placement at both the 2001 and 2004 Worlds, possibly even on the podium but atleast for sure in the top 5 (I think she was 7th at both which was ridiculous for how she skated).
USAGymnast (November 30, 1999 at 12:00 am)
The judging was better at Worlds than it was at the Olympics.
I thought Fumie was robbed of silver at the 2006 Olympics. I also thought she was robbed of at least 4th place at the 2002 Olympics.

It was nice to see after she was robbed at the Olympics. Meissner also deserved the gold medal, it was a shock, but she deserved it based on the performances. The judging here was much better and more accurate then the womens event at the Olympics, it was correct to what happened on the day, and that is how it should be, but of course isnt always in figure skating.

Well deserved silver medal for Fumie.
